Abdul Mitha represents banks, fintechs and other financial institutions on transformative strategic transactions.  His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, capital raising initiatives, securities regulation and bank-fintech partnerships.  Mr. Mitha serves as securities counsel to publicly traded and privately held financial institutions on SEC reporting and disclosure obligations, shareholder communications, stock exchange compliance and corporate governance matters.  He also advises financial institutions, fintechs, non-depository companies and investor groups on de novo bank formations, acquisitions of bank charters and investments in banking organizations.  Mr. Mitha has led many transactions in the financial services industry involving credit unions, including the first transaction in Illinois involving the partnership of a bank with a credit union.

In addition, Mr. Mitha regularly counsels boards of directors and senior management teams on fiduciary duties, succession planning, regulatory considerations, and emerging issues involving digital assets and financial technology.  He is a frequent writer and speaker on banking and securities law topics, including capital planning and growth strategies, the M&A environment and digital partnerships.
